TIENS Lipid Metabolic Management Tea: My One-Week Experience
Sometimes the body surprises us when we pay attention.
It has now been about one week since I began using TIENS Lipid Metabolic Management Tea, and I wanted to document a few things I have noticed in my own body.
The first was increased urination.
During the first two or three days… especially the first two… I noticed that when I woke in the early morning, I was urinating much more frequently than usual. On one morning, I probably went about five times within a relatively short period. For me, it felt very clearly as though my body was releasing fluid.
One day I had my normal salt intake. The following day, because I wanted to observe what might happen, I went without added salt in my meals. And the truth be told, sometimes I just prefer the natural flavor of the food I eat. That night I developed a muscle cramp. I took electrolytes, and it reminded me of something very important when using anything that noticeably increases fluid loss: hydration and electrolyte balance matter.
Then comes the part I find particularly interesting
I expected the tea to interfere with my sleep. It did the opposite for me.
The formula contains six varieties of green tea. Since green tea naturally contains caffeine, I initially wondered whether taking it at night would keep me awake. Caffeine can increase alertness and, depending on the person and dose, interfere with sleep. However, individual sensitivity varies considerably here.
Yet my personal experience has been quite different.
I have been sleeping remarkably well. Even on nights when I sleep fewer hours than I ordinarily would like, I wake feeling rested and alert rather than foggy, tired, or lethargic. Sometimes I remain on my sleeping floor simply because I know I went to sleep late, drift in and out for a while longer, and still get up feeling quite well.
I mentioned this observation to one of our TIENS leaders. He explained that he would not describe the tea as a sedative, but that its overall formulation can have a relaxing effect. I found that particularly interesting because it was not what I expected from a tea containing green teas.
The lesson for me after one week
This is exactly why I believe in listening to the body rather than assuming that everyone will experience a product in precisely the same way.
For me, so far:
More fluid release.
A reminder to stay well hydrated and maintain my electrolytes.
And unexpectedly restful sleep.
The TIENS literature itself recommends good hydration alongside its wellness approach. And research on caffeine is more nuanced than simply saying “caffeine dehydrates you.” It can increase urine production under some circumstances, but moderate caffeinated beverages do not automatically produce dehydration in everyone.
This is my experience after one week. I’ll continue listening, observing, and sharing what I notice along the way.
